What is the cost of a one-way trip?
Our fares vary by service. Our route buses and XtraMile cost $1.75 per one way trip, or $.85 for seniors and people with disabilities showing proper ID. Our Dial-A-Ride and ADA Paratransit cost $3.50 per one way trip. Money saving tickets and passes are available. Learn more by visiting our Fares page.

Is there a discount for senior citizens or students?
Discount programs vary by service. On bus routes, seniors 65+ and people with disabilities can ride for $.85 each way by showing a Medicare card or CT statewide reduced fare ID. Senior 60+ meeting certain eligibility guidelines may ride Dial-A-Ride on a donation only basis by pre-registering at (860) 510-0429. There are no discounts for XtraMile or ADA Paratransit.
Students attending a participating college or university, such as Middlesex Community College, may ride any bus route at no charge with a UPass. Wesleyan students may ride any bus route or XtraMile at no charge by showing a valid Wesleyan ID.

What are the hours of operation?
Hours vary by service and route. Visit the Schedules or Services page for more information. Our phone customer service hours are Monday through Friday, 6am to 10pm and Saturday, 8am to 5pm.

How do I purchase a ticket?
There are many ways to purchase a ticket or pass. You may order them online, buy them in-person at our Middletown terminal, Shoreline office, and participating Stop & Shop stores, or buy them on your mobile device with the Token Transit app. Learn more by visiting our Fares page.

Are bicycles permitted on board?
Buses have bike racks on the front of the vehicle and are available at no charge. Bicycles must be loaded and unloaded by the passenger in the following manner:
- As the bus approaches, have your bike ready to load. Remove water bottles, pumps or other loose items.
- Inform the driver that you will be loading or unloading a bicycle.
- Load only from the curb side of the vehicle.
- Pull the handle in the center of the rack up and pull the rack down.
- Place the bicycle in the inside slot of the rack, if empty.
- Pull the support arm over the front tire, ensuring that it is not on the fender or frame.
- After removing your bicycle, pull the handle to lift the rack back up to the stowed position.

Is there a mobile app for tracking buses or purchasing tickets?
Yes! All of our tickets and passes are available in the Token Transit app. Real-time bus arrival times are available in the PassioGO! app. Both are available for Apple and Android.

Are buses wheelchair accessible?
All of our services are ADA accessible. Anyone may request use of the wheelchair lift or ramp. For reserved services, such as ADA Paratransit, Dial-A-Ride and XtraMile, please notify us if you have a mobility device in advance.

Are baby strollers allowed on board?
Carriages and strollers must be folded before boarding and stored out of the aisle.

Are shopping carts and bags allowed on board?
Foldable shopping carts are permitted on board. All shopping carts must be unloaded and folded before boarding. Shopping bags are permitted, but must be able to be carried by the passenger in one trip. On Dial-A-Ride, drivers will assist with up to three bags on request. Bags must be stored in your lap or by your feet. Aisles must be kept clear of all objects.

Are animals permitted on board?
Service animals are always permitted on board. Other animals that may be caged and stored in your lap are permitted as well.

Does service operate in bad weather?
During severe weather events, updates on delayed openings, early shutdowns and closures will be posted on our website, social media accounts and on local television stations.

Do you operate on holidays?
We do not operate on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day
Only ParkConnect service is provided on the following holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day
We operate a regular schedule on any holiday not listed above.
